Applications are invited from candidates for admissions to First year Full Time / Part time M.E / M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA, MCA , Part Time M.Tech Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) and 2nd year Lateral Entry to MCA courses in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Unaided professional Educational Institutions for the academic session 2019-2020. Eligible and interested candidates may submit their applications through online at official website : http://kea.kar.nic.in .

Karnataka PGCET  2019 Application Fee and Payment

1.The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in any of the branch of the Banks prescribed. The bank will retain bank copy of the Challan and handover the remaining two copies of the Challan to the candidates

2. The candidates who are residing outside India shall pay the fees in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, payable at Bangalore.

Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka PGCET 2019

Nationality and Domicile

Candidate should be of Indian Nationality and should satisfy Local / Non local  status requirements.

Educational Qualifications

1. Full Time M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch : 

➤. A candidate with valid GATE score.

➤ A candidate who has passed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to M.E. /M.Tech / M.Arch courses (45% of marks for SC, ST and Category-I candidates).

2. Part Time M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch :

➤ A candidate who has passed prescribed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch courses (45% marks for SC, ST and Category-I Karnataka candidates) 


➤  In addition to this candidate after obtaining the complete degree, must have worked for not less than three years as on 31st July 2018, in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks

Admission. However, the employer has to fill up the NOC duly signed by the competent authority.

3.Part time M.Tech Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) :

  ➤ Who have passed B.E. / B.Tech Examination (in relevant field) of VTU or any other recognized University / Institution and have passed the qualifying examination in second class (50% aggregate) (No relaxation in minimum percentage will be given for these admissions).

➤ Having experience of one academic year

➤ Working place shall be within 100 kms from the institutions where they seek admission.

4. Full Time MBA  :

Candidate who has passed recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses. (45% Marks for SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates).

5. Part Time MBA :

➤ A candidate who has passed recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses (45% marks marks for SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates). 

➤ In addition to this a candidate after obtaining the degree, must have worked for not less than three years as on 31st July 2018, in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission.

6. For MCA :

➤ A candidate who has passed any recognized under graduate examination or equivalent examination with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Applications or Computer Programming or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MCA courses (45% marks for SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates).

➤ Provided that in respect of candidate who has studied and passed one of the subjects specified above in Pre-University Course with 50% of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission. 45% of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates.

7. Lateral Entry to 2nd Year MCA :

➤ A candidate who has passed recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination in BCA, B.Sc (I.T. / Computer Science) with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or at Graduate Level and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MCA courses (45% of marks in Q. E. In case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates) 

➤ No Part Time courses are offered for MCA.

How to Apply- Karnataka PGCET 2019 Online Application form

The candidate after satisfying the eligibility criteria PGCET, can apply online mode at official website only. The registration process will be held in two phases, in the first phase the candidate can fill the online application, while in the second phase candidate required to pay the application fee. Candidate shall take printout of the Karnataka PGCET Application Form 2019 and store it for future reference.

Step-1 : Fill details in Registration Form

1. Logging to the official website http://kea.kar.nic.in, click on the “PGCET-2019 Online Application”.

2. Now click on the link ” New User ? Click Here to Register”, a new webpage appear on the screen.

3.  After reading the instructions, clicking on the link “Proceed to Apply Online”.

4. After clicking the link you will redirected to Candidate Registration page, fill the details are Candidate name, Date of Birth, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name as it is in the SSLC / 10th Standard Marks cards, Active E-Mail Id, Working Mobile Number, choose User Id , Pass word and Answer the secret question.

5. Completing registration details entry, then click ” Submit” button, after successful registration candidate will receive on Application Number and User Id to their mobile number and Email- Id and same will be displayed on the screen. Please note them User-Id and Password for future reference.

Step-2 : Fill up of  Online Application 


6. Then a Login Prompt will be displayed and candidates are required to enter the User ID and Password created by them and Login.

7. On successful login by the candidates ” Student Information” will be displayed, fill the entire academic, study, reservation and personal details.

Step-3 : Uploading of Photo, Signature & Thumb Impression

8. After successful saving the study details, the candidates will have to upload the  Candidate Photograph (3.5*4.5 cm), signature (3.5*1.5 cm), Left Hand Thumb Impression (3.5*1.5 cm) and Parent Signature (or) Left Hand Thumb Impression and click on the “Submit” button.

Step-4 :  Challan

9.  After clicking on the Submit button, in the Declaration candidate will be directed to the Challan tab where candidate can download the Challan by selecting the bank.

Step-5 : Fee Payment

10. The fee can be remitted through E-Challan by depositing fee in State Bank of Mysore / State Bank of Hyderabad / Indian Bank / Axis Bank / State Bank of India

11. Click on appearing as “Print” link, enter the required details, click submit button.

Karnataka PGCET  2019 Exam Centers

The candidate should fill the name of  examination centre where he / she wants appear in the test. Examination centre once opted by the candidate shall not be changed under any circumstances, however University reserves the right to allot any centre in view of the exigencies.

Karnataka PGCET 2019 Exam Pattern 

For M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch :


The entrance test will be conducted in Offline as Paper-Pen Based Test. The Question paper will consist of 75 objective type and Multiple choice questions in 2 & 1/2 hours duration. Each question has four options out of which one is correct. 50 questions in Part – A carry one mark each. 25 questions in Part – B carry two marks each. Thus there will be 75 questions and a total mark is 100. The unanswered questions or multiple answers will receive nil marks. No negative marks.


For MBA :

The entrance test will be held in single session and conducted in Offline as Paper-Pen Based Test. The Question paper will consist of 100 objective type and Multiple choice questions in 2 & 1/2 hours duration. Each question has four options out of which one is correct. Each correct answer will awarded 1 mark. The unanswered questions or multiple answers will receive nil marks. No negative marks.

For MCA :


The entrance test will be held in single session and conducted in Offline as Paper-Pen Based Test. The Question paper will consist of 80 objective type and Multiple choice questions in 2 & 1/2 hours duration. Each question has four options out of which one is correct. 60 questions in Part – A carry one mark each. 20 questions in Part – B carry two marks each. Thus there will be 80 questions and a total mark is 100.The unanswered questions or multiple answers will receive nil marks. No negative marks.


Karnataka PGCET Answer Key 2019 

Karnataka Examinations Authority, Government of Karnataka will publish the answer key of the test in the official website. Candidate can calculate their marks in entrance test, after knowing the total number of answers correctly marked by them, with the help of key. If any candidate has complaints regarding the key  questions the same shall be submitted to organizing authority in writing a along with supporting documents being challenges before date of result.The complaints received by the KEA will be placed before an Expert Committee, whose decision will be final for determination of the right key.

 Karnataka PGCET Results 2019 

The KEA will conduct the entrance examination. evaluate the answer sheets and likely to declare the result by the last week of May and same will hosted on the website. There will be combined merit list along the category-wise merit list for all the candidates participating in the said examination. All the candidates appeared for the entrance test will awarded test wise rank as per marks secured in the test appeared.

Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2019

The counselling schedule score wise along with venue will be notifies by the organizing authority after declaration of result, of the entrance test. There will be web based counselling system to allot the available seat in various colleges. The qualified candidates have to attend certification in any one of the designated help line centers as per the schedule. The details of ranks distributed help line centre wise for certificate verification and all other important information is placed on the website. No separate call letters sent to qualified candidates for attending the counselling. All candidates appearing  Karnataka PGCET 2019 examination must remain in touch with the website.
